Endorsements Courses

Two endorsement courses are provided; a four-hour assistance towing endorsement and a four-hour auxiliary
sail endorsement course.

Assistance Towing Endorsement course (COLPAC-42)

This course will satisfy the exam requirements for adding an endorsement of "Assistance Towing" to any deck
officer endorsement of OUPV or Master or Mate 200 tons or less.

Cost:
    $100 ($50 when scheduled with the Master 100 or OUPV class). Call (503) 841-6066 and ask for Pat to

    The Assistance Towing Endorsement Workbook is included in the cost of the course, but may be
    purchased in advance for $20 to preview the material. Bring the workbook with you on the first day of

Subjects: Commercial assistance towing seamanship and safety.

Prerequisites: None; Officer endorsement recommended.

USCG approval:
    Any applicant who has successfully completed your 4-hour Assistance Towing course and presents your
    Certificate of Training WITHIN ONE YEAR of the completion of training, will satisfy the examination
    requirements of 46 CFR 10.482(b) for an Assistance Towing endorsement to any license up to Master Not
    More Than 200 gross tons.

Schedule:
    This 4-hour course is scheduled weekdays (Monday through Friday) from 8AM till noon by appointment.

Auxiliary Sail Endorsement course (COLPAC-45)

This course will satisfy the exam requirements for adding an endorsement of "Auxiliary Sailing Vessels" to a
Master or Mate endorsement of 200 tons or less.

Cost:
    $100 ($50 when scheduled with the Master 100 ton class).

    requirements of 46 CFR 10.205(i) for an Auxiliary Sail endorsement to any deck license up to 200 gross
    tons.
