Upgrade OUPV to Master Course
    (COLPAC-530)

This course will satisfy the exam requirements for the
raise in grade of OUPV to Master or Mate 100 tons or
less; OR for the increase the scope of  Master or Mate
100 tons or less from inland to near coastal waters.

Subjects include seamanship, Safety and Small
Passenger Vessel Regulations.

Prerequisites courses or endorsements.
  • An OUPV endorsement or course completion
    certificate is required for upgrading to Master.
  • A Master 100 tons or less Inland endorsement is
    required to upgrade to a Near Coastal Route.

$400, including the $100 scheduling fee.

USCG approval:
    Any applicant who has successfully completed
    your Upgrade OUPV to Master 100 Tons (COLPAC-
    530) course and presents you Certificate of
    Training within one year of the completion of
    training, will satisfy all the examination
    requirements for upgrading of a merchant
    mariner credential from OUPV Near Coastal, or
    Great Lakes and Inland, or Inland Waters to a
    credential of Master or Mate of not more than
    100 gross registered tons upon Near Coastal, or
    Great Lakes & Inland, or Inland Waters; OR,
    increase the scope of a credential of Master or
    Mate of not more than 100 gross registered tons
    upon Great Lakes and Inland, or Inland Waters
    to Master or Mate of not more than 100 gross
    registered tons upon Near Coastal Waters. The
    course completion certificate issued upon
    successful completion of this course is valid for
    one application which results in the issuance of
    an endorsement(s) and may not be used for
    future application transactions.

Course Registration and Schedule
This course is scheduled over three consecutive days,
Monday through Wednesday from 8AM through 5PM.

Registration is on the first day of the class and requires
a photo ID and full payment for the class. Acceptable
methods of payment are cash, check or credit card
(Visa or MasterCard).
