48-hour Able Seaman Course
    $700 total ($100 registration fee, $600 course fee)

This six day course will satisfy the USCG exam requirements for any Able Seaman rating and covers
three subject areas: Navigation General; Rules of the Road; and Deck General, Safety and
Environmental Protection and includes the Marlinespike Seamanship practical knot exam. The USCG
approval reads:

    Any applicant who has successfully completed your 48-hour Able Seaman course and presents
    your Certificate of Training within one year of the completion of training, will satisfy the written
    examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.05-9 for the “Deck & Navigation General / Deck Safety”
    and “Deck General & Safety / Rules of the Road” exam modules for any Able Seaman
    endorsement; AND the practical (knot-tying) examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.05-9(c) for
    any Able Seaman endorsement.

No prerequisite licenses or courses. This course is scheduled 0800 through 1700 daily over six
consecutive days; Thursday through Tuesday on the following dates:
