Merchant Mariner Credential
    Application Help

Every Merchant Mariner Credential transaction requires
an application package containing the correct forms and
documents. To assist with this process I have
assembled the following checklists based on the most
common types of transactions. Use these checklists to
insure that your application package is complete.

The most commonly required USCG forms can be
viewed or downloaded directly from this page.

Completing the USCG Forms

When completing the Coast Guard forms read all the
information and instructions on the form carefully and
follow them exactly as written. Any deviation from the
instructions can cause lengthly delays in the approval
process.

Cost of Getting an Endorsement

The cost of applying for an MMC is about $500 to
$600. This includes the USCG application and issuance
fees, the TWIC application fees, the average cost of the
physical exam and drug screening, and the cost of the
American Red Cross First Aid/CPR Training.

The biggest cost of getting an MMC is generally the
cost of any course and/or lodging that may be
required. The following four steps are provided to
insure that you qualify for the endorsement before you
encounter the largest part of this expense.

While it is not a requirement, it is highly recommended
that you submit your application to the USCG and get
your approval
PRIOR to taking the course.
